Department of Gastroenterology, Infectiology and Rheumatology (including workspace nutrition medicine)
This is the website of the Department of Gastroenterology, Infectiology and Rheumatology (including workspace nutrition medicine) at the Campus Benjamin Franklin in Steglitz.
Go to the website of the department at the Campus Mitte (CCM)

Our department provides you with professional medical care in the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology and infectiology, based on latest scientific findings. We have outstanding experience in chronic inflammatory diseases of gastrointestinal tract and of joints, such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis or rheumatic diseases. Another of our specialities are chronic infections of the gut. In these areas we are counted among the leading clinical institutions in Germany.
Besides inpatient care, as an university hospital we offer you numerous specialized consultations on inflammatory bowel diseases, rheumatological and infectious diseases, nutritional disorders and more. For optimal care we are closely interconnected with other departments of Charité. As an example we can refer to the central endoscopy department of Campus Benjamin Franklin, attributed to our clinic. Another crucial cooperation appears within the Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center. You can find further information about us on the pages of our web site.
To ensure efficient care also in the future, our clinic is highly involved in basic and applied clinical research. I would like to point out the Collaborative Reseach Center 633 "Induction and Modulation of T Cell Mediated Immune Responses in the Gastrointestinal Tract", the participation at Charité Research Center ImmunoSciences and also our involvement in numerous clinical trials, where we contribute significantly to advancement of modern therapies so that we can make them accessible for treatment as early as possible.
Let me invite you to get a comprehensive view of our clinic. We would be very pleased if you chose our clinic for treatment, if required.
Welcome!
Your Prof. Dr. Martin Zeitz
